Railroading Towards Moab, UT
Board the Rocky Mountaineer to continue this wonderful journey filled with the most incredible scenery at every turn. The train travels along the Colorado River through areas only accessible by rail. The trip has been called “absolutely stunning,” and you’ll be delighted to see why.

Crossing the border into Utah, look out for the 12,726-foot Mount Peale peak, the highest point of the La Sal Mountains, and watch red sandstone landscapes emerge.
This afternoon, arrive in Moab, home to two of America’s most famous National Parks. Later, we’ll visit Canyonlands National Park, where the Colorado River carved countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes. Several spectacular stops will be made for excellent photo ops!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 2025

Durango, CO & Mesa Verde National Park
For over 700 years, the Ancestral Pueblo people built thriving communities on the mesas and cliffs of Mesa Verde. Today, you’ll have a firsthand look at where they dwelled. The tour offers a spectacular glimpse into an unbelievable past.

Tonight, enjoy a real cowboy chuckwagon dinner and show at the fun and famous Bar D Ranch. After supper, the Bar D Wranglers present a concert featuring music and songs of old West cowboys, along with comedy and lively instrumentals.

THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2025

Durango to Colorado Springs, CO
Journey through majestic mountains toward Colorado Springs. The scenery on either side is stunning. We make a special visit to the Great Sand Dunes National Park, declared by Herbert Hoover in 1932. It contains the tallest sand dunes in North America. Enjoy a stop at the visitor center followed by a 2-mile ride to see the dunes.

After a lunch break, we arrive in Colorado Springs, which boasts the most spectacular views of the 14,115 ft. Pikes Peak. This evening, enjoy leisure time where you may choose to explore the downtown area with plenty of local restaurants to choose from.

FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2025

Colorado Springs & the Pike’s Peak Cog Railroad
When Katharine Lee Bates sat at the top of Pikes Peak in 1893, she was so inspired by the view that she wrote the poem “America the Beautiful,” which is one of the most beloved songs about America. Once you arrive at the top of Pikes Peak on the Cog Railway, you will quickly learn how this adored song became so popular—the sweeping 360-degree views are incredible! People say carbs can be helpful at high altitudes, so don’t forget to grab some of those tasty, homemade donuts at the visitor center.

Pikes Peak, named because explorers thought it was fit for the Gods, frames the Garden of the Gods, which contains outstanding geological features like Steamboat Rock, the Three Graces, and Balanced Rock. You’ll explore the park with special stops for spectacular photos.

Mobility Considerations

This tour moves at a moderate pace where planned activities are extended and there will be limited leisure time. Days may begin earlier or end later in the evening. You can expect to be standing and walking for longer periods of time, climbing steps, walking uphill, walking along uneven surfaces, and extended riding in safari vehicles over rough terrain.

At Unicorn Tours, we do our best to vet every location for accessibility for our guests who use mobility aids, including walkers and canes. If you have specific concerns or questions about any of our tours, please reach out via phone (978-256-6559) or email (inquiries@unicorntours.com).
