This morning we leave the grandeur of the Highlands behind and board a ferry for an hour scenic cruise across the Northumberland Straights to begin our visit to Prince Edward Island. Although the smallest of the nation’s ten provinces, it played an historic role as the “Birthplace of Canada”. A traditional island lobster bake is planned for tonight that includes unlimited famous “island blues (mussels)” (lobster alternative available). Home for two nights will be in the Provincial Capital City of Charlottetown. B, Traditional Lobster Bake – 2-nights Best Western Charlottetown, PEI

                 Day 6
Local Guide will join us for a tour of the island including a drive along the famous red cliffs that tower high above the Atlantic in Prince Edward Island National Park.  During a city tour of Charlottetown we’ll learn the story of the creation of a nation when the Fathers of Confederation met hear in 1867 to form the Confederation of Canada.  As we explore the island, we’ll stop at village markets and shops to enjoy local products and handcrafts by island artisans.  No visit to the “smiley-shaped” island is complete without a visit to the home of its most famous red-headed, pigtailed, freckled-face resident, “Anne of Green Gables”.

The highlight of our time on PEI will be tonight’s live performance of the musical “Anne of Green Gables” at Confederation Theatre.   B, L

                Day 7
We’ll leave the island via 8-mile long Confederation Bridge back to New Brunswick for a visit to Hopewell Rocks.  Located along the Bay of Fundy, Hopewell Rocks enjoys a unique vantage point to observe the highest tides in the world – record 52 feet!  You’ll have time for lunch (on own) before joining a guided walk along the rim path for great photo opportunities of this incredible body of water.  If the tide is low during our visit, you’ll have the opportunity to “walk on the ocean floor” among rock formations that rise 50 feet from the ocean floor, affectionately known as the “Flower Pots”.
